While today is technically not the first day for Bentos, I am going to start keeping track like this so that I at least have a unique title for each days Bento!
Here is Bailey’s
She got Peanut Butter Roll Ups, Chickadees, Mandarin oranges, fruit snacks and half of a big cookie that Dillon got for them at the Bank yesterday. Her drink is an 8 oz. water bottle filled with a drink made with a sugar free mix-in, that I froze so that it would be cold.
For the roll ups, I just cut the crust off the bread and roll it out flat with my rolling pin, then spread the PB (she doesn’t like jelly…what kid doesn’t like jelly?), roll it up and cut each roll into 4 pieces and they fit in the bottom tier of the bento perfectly.
Here is Colton’s
He got BBQ meatballs. I just buy the big bags of frozen homestyle meatballs, pull them out of the freezer in the mornings, add BBQ and pop them in the microwave. I did end up having to cut them in half to get the box closed. He also has grapes, fruit snacks, mandarin oranges and the other half of the cookie.
I also needed to improvise and come up with something to keep them closed till I can get the belts ordered, so this is what I ended up with.
I have a HUGE ribbon stash from my paper scrapping days so I made my own belts with them…I think they turned out cute! I tied them in a knot under the bow so that the kids just need to slide them off and on.
So that is today’s lunch for the 2 older kids!
We had errands to run so we ended up eating out today.
The PB rollups are a great idea, I’ll have to try those for Kaylie! And now I totally want to eat a donut lol!
